Dr. Kathryn Mutter
MD, MPH
Emergency physician, medical educator, and co-founder of Alula. Associate professor of emergency medicine with expertise in clinical simulation, medical education research, and public health.
Kathryn is an emergency physician and associate professor whose career bridges the emergency department and the classroom. She directs the Phase 3 medical school curriculum and created the Internship Readiness Course — a bootcamp that prepares graduating medical students for the intensity of residency — which was recognized by the AAMC as a national model in 2024.
Her ability to translate complex medical concepts for non-experts makes her a natural voice for Alula’s editorial content. She co-authors articles with both Justin and Bridgid, bringing clinical clarity to topics that families encounter for the first time during a crisis.
She writes about the science behind what actually works when the textbook isn’t enough — translating medical evidence into practical guidance for families navigating aging and caregiving.
